Best wedding locations in Lake Garda

Lake Garda has recently become popular as an international wedding destination.

This majestic lake, the largest in Italy, offers a magical combination of beauty, culture, history, and a perfect climate. It is the least well-known of Italy's lakes, at least to non-Italians, making it a great place to discover.

Lake Garda, located at the foot of the Alps, is surrounded by various landscapes, from towering mountains to carved cliffs, rolling hills, and, ultimately, lovely beaches. All the pretty and enchanted villages that dot the shoreline offer additional insights into the region's rich history and culture.

Architectural gems and curated gardens make it a beautiful location for elegant weddings with stunning views. In addition, the Mediterranean climate, delicious Italian cuisine, and local wines will accompany your event. Indeed, the Italian Dolce Vita's unique romantic vibe makes Lake Garda a dream location.

For convenience, the big cities closest to Lake Garda are Venice, Verona, and Milan.

Let’s share with you some of our preferred locations.

Isola Del Garda

Some places in Italy are just magical. Isola del Garda is one of them.

Imagine an island surrounded by sapphire blue water and the majestic Italian Alps, with a fantastic Venetian neo-gothic villa in the center!

Initially built as a monastery, this villa has beautiful gardens and breathtaking terraces, making it the perfect place for a lavish luxury wedding.

Your guests will be delighted and live a unique, unforgettable experience. Start by saying "I do" in the fantastic La Loggia, with its 18th-century frescoes and view of the water. Then, have cocktails in the botanical gardens and celebrate in the villa's beautiful banquet halls.

The maximum capacity is 80 people, but a marquee can be arranged in another part of the island if your numbers are higher.

You could also hire the island just for your civil or symbolic ceremony and return to another lakeside venue for your reception.

Castello di Malcesine

Sure to cast a spell on you, this fortress is located at the top of a hill overlooking Lake Garda, dominating the picturesque medieval town of Malcesine.

Originally a sleepy fishing village, Malcesine has evolved into a quaint resort with lush Mediterranean foliage and olive groves, narrow cobbled streets, and an elegant harbor area with an alpine landscape behind it.

Due to its magical and suggestive atmosphere, it is perfect for intimate or small weddings.

There is a short uphill walk from the town to the Castle. Once you reach up, the view is absolutely stunning. There are two ceremony rooms in the Castle. One is suitable for small weddings of up to 40/50 seats, situated on the edge of the Castle with fantastic views over Lake Garda. The second room in the tower is larger and holds up to 70 seats.

Most weddings occur on the splendid terrace of the Castle, the " Rivellino" situated under the tower with a breathtaking view over the lake, the mountains, and the village. This terrace can seat people up to 60.

Hotel Villa Cortine Palace

Built in the 1800s within a large 5-hectare park, Villa Cortine, formerly an aristocratic residence, is now an elegant, luxurious 5-star Italian hotel offering privacy and lake access.

The villa lies on a hill, on the tip of the narrow Sirmione peninsula, surrounded by luscious gardens and characterized by a neoclassical facade imbued with charm and history.

Getting married at Villa Cortine is nothing short of extraordinary. You can get married among graceful conifers and palm trees in an enchanting panorama or tie the knot directly on the suggestive shores of the crystal blue lake.

The hotel can accommodate between 80 and 180 guests and has 54 on-site rooms. Rooms are split between the original Palladian villa and an addition that dates back to the hotel's opening in the 1950s.

Villa Fiordaliso/Torre San Marco

About 20 minutes from Verona lies Villa Fiordaliso, a neoclassical marvel with Siena facades and halls decorated with Venetian windows located directly on the shore of Lake Garda.

This charming estate was once a private residence. Now, this small boutique hotel boosts fragrant avenues of lemon trees, palm-lined paths, and a private beach.

Step inside Villa Fiordaliso and discover five exquisitely furnished suites with theromantic name of a flower like Iris or Magnolia that can accommodate up to 15 persons.

A highlight of this hotel is the enchanting Torre San Marco that awaits down a short path. It is an old tower from the early 1900s that was a lookout spot.

This extraordinary romantic venue offers indoor and outdoor spaces for up to 150 people. It is a particularly scenic location because its spaces overlook the lake, which will exceed your wildest wedding dreams.

Dogana Veneta

The Dogana Veneta is a historical building from the 1300s located in the main square of Lazise. It directly overlooks the shores of Lake Garda.

Previously a customs house for the transit of goods, this prestigious Venetian-age structure is today an important location for weddings and cultural events, with 40 to over 300 people.

Restored in 2003, this structure became an elegant and exclusive location thanks to its majestic windows, ancient stone walls, and infinite vaults.
Most importantly, the beautiful panoramic terrace, directly overlooking the lake shores, will welcome your guests for a cocktail with breathtaking sunsets.

It is an ideal location for any season, equipped with air conditioning and heating to guarantee the right atmosphere every day of the year.

Villa San Vigilio

San Vigilio is a 16th-century historical villa located in the lake of Garda. It was built for a wealthy Venetian family as a summer residence and is considered a beautiful example of Renaissance architecture in Italy.

The Villa opens its gates to make you live in a timeless fairy tale, where dreams of an extraordinary event can come together. Much of the charm is dictated by the splendid Villa and the perfectly manicured gardens of lemon trees, oleanders, cypresses, and architectural elements. It is undoubtedly a place with a WOW factor to impress your guests.

Villa Bettoni

This prestigious historic house, called "the Little Versailles," stands directly on the shore of Lake Garda.

Villa Bettoni will amaze your guests with its elegant frescoes, magnificent statues, original refined furniture, fantastic art collections, and splendid library.

Outside is a spectacular Italian-style garden of olive trees and citrus groves adorned with sculptures. The garden hosts three beautiful fountains, an artificial cave, and two lovely terraces with a lake view to accommodate up to 200 guests.
