A mid-summer wedding in Tuscany
When Vana & Lorenzo first contacted me, their mind was set on a countryside wedding with a chic boho style.
They had around 120 guests coming from England, Switzerland, Italy, and Lebanon. They were looking for a gorgeous church for their catholic ceremony and a castle for their dinner reception. After scouting many venues in Umbria, Emilia Romagna, and Tuscany, they fell in love with the 12th-century Castello di Gabbiano, a historic winery set high on a Tuscan hillside amid the region of the Chianti.
15 minutes away from the castle was The Badia di Passignano, a historic Benedictine abbey from the 16th century located atop a scenic hilltop, a perfect location for their religious ceremony.
An all-white and green arrangement of flowers was elegantly set up in the church.
For the dinner reception, a touch of lavender and a mix of aromatic plants were added to a variety of white flowers. The result was a beautiful setting under the fairy lights where the guests enjoyed a delicious 4-course dinner paired with the excellent wine of the castle's cellar.
After the dinner, the pastry chef prepared the wedding cake, a traditional Italian "mille foglie" with berries, in front of the guests, much to the joy of everyone.
